![]() ![]() This is not so much a hotel as an attraction that just happens to have rooms- similar to the MGM Grand in Vegas. Glad we checked it out, but we wouldn't go back. I feel like GWL tries REALLY hard to entertain, but most of the events were lost on us. ![]() Even the kids were ready to move on after 3 hours in the water park & 3 hours of Quest adventures. Pros: excellent staff service (excluding the on-site Starbucks workers who were mostly grumpy - probably from listening to screaming children all day) /// VERY clean /// self-contained - pretty much anything you can think of is in the building /// 6th & 7th floors are generally quite as the Quest adventures are on the lower floors /// Awesome water slides!!! Cons: Super loud & chaotic (many of the extra curricular activities are treasure hunts that encompass the entire lodge so it's bonkers from the 5th floor down) /// Extra events & food are unnecessarily expensive /// Quest adventures function sporadically & aren't very clear on instructions - definitely wouldn't do it again In a nutshell, an over-nighter at a discounted rate left me with a nice memory. I got an excellent deal on Groupon, otherwise I wouldn't have been thrilled with the value to fun ratio. While this was a fun adventure for my 6 & 9 year old boys, my husband & I were not hugely amused with all of the extra (non-water) events. ![]()
